Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Skaggs was a store manager for Walden Books for ten years and was a working mom with a son born in 1983 and a daughter in 1987. Her husband, “the other Dr. Skaggs,” is John B. Skaggs, Ph.D. Dr. John Skaggs is a psychotherapist in Lexington.
When not busy with her professional duties, Dr. Skaggs nurtures her own health with daily workouts on horseback along with all attendant barn chores.
